Archival Research against cash

Summary

At number 38 Pestalozzistrasse in Berlin-Pankow, there is a great deal of activity in the office. Young historians sit looking at microfilms, decipher illegible files and feed notebooks with data. We are in the office of Facts & Files who started in 1999 with the innovative idea of a historical research service and is having great success with it. Facts & Files works with the traditional tools of historians. The young entrepreneurs know the maze of the German archives and the confusing thicket of authorities of former historical eras. Most customers are interested in the period between 1933 until 1945. “‘In the beginning we thought we would probably never earn any money with Facts & Files,’ Frank Drauschke says remembering the early time of the company. Today it looks different.”
