UNESCO World Heritage at the Rivers Saale and Unstrut and the Naumburg Cathedral
Facts & Files has written a study on the history of the dominions in the High Middle Ages, which was part of the proposal to the UNESCO. Facts & Files was commissioned by the Förderverein Welterbe an Saale und Unstrut e.V. in Naumburg. Our study was finished in 2012.
The Naumburg Cathedral is a structure that has remained to a great extent unchanged in its late Romanesque and early Gothic use of forms.
Also the landscape of the rivers Saale and Unstrut was an important dominion in the High Middle Ages. Both, the cathedral and the region around it were submitted as a proposal to be on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In 2018, the UNESCO added the Naumburg Cathedral to the World Heritage List.
