Saxony at Work. Digital Industrial Culture

Saxony at Work. Digital Industrial Culture

In 2020, the Free State of Saxony celebrated 500 years of industrial culture. The project “Saxony at Work. Digital Industrial Culture” offered all interested parties the opportunity to get to know testimonies of this history, which are kept in the archives, libraries and records of Saxony, online.

At the same time, this campaign also offered private individuals the opportunity to add their very personal documents from their family’s working life to this digital collection.

Photos of objects, letters and other handwritten documents can be uploaded online on the project site https://europeana.transcribathon.eu/runs/sachsen-at-work/

The online tool ‘Transcribathon.eu‘, developed by Facts & Files Digital Services , enables registered users to transcribe and annotate uploaded documents.

The project “Saxony at Work. Digital Industrial Culture” was organized by Facts & Files in cooperation with the Europeana Foundation and the State Exhibition Saxony and is funded by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony and the Cultural Area Vogtland-Zwickau.
