Archival Description of the Minutes of the Berlin Senate

Commissioned by the Berlin State Archives

Facts & Files catalogued the minutes of the Berlin Senate from 1951 onwards, which are preserved at the Berlin State Archives. After 1948, the municipal administration was split between East and West Berlin.

The archival files processed originated from the West Berlin Senate. Until 1990, the Senate was seated in the Schöneberg Town Hall, where the House of Representatives also convened.

The minutes, proposals and resolutions processed in the project can be found in the collection “Der Regierende Bürgermeister von Berlin/Senatskanzlei” B Rep. 002, at the Berlin State Archive.

Further information on the magistrates and senates of Berlin can be found here (in German).
