Expert Report on Nazi Involvement with the University of Cologne
On behalf of the University of Cologne, Facts & Files has been preparing a report since August 2017 which looks at the entanglement of the National Socialist regime with the university's charitable foundations, honorary titles and grants awarded to academics and institutes.
The assessment includes research on honorary doctors, members and senators of the University of Cologne, the members of the Board of Trustees, donors to the university and the activities of associated institutes and their employees during the Nazi period.
This report is part of a project on the history of the University of Cologne since 1919. In 2019, the university will commemorate the 100th anniversary of its re-founding, and for this occasion, its history from 1919 to the present day is being thoroughly researched.
